What the human evidence actually is

Genuinely early-stage but real. RegeneRx ran phase 2/3 ophthalmic trials of Tβ4 eye drops (RGN-259) for dry eye and neurotrophic keratopathy with mixed but partly positive results, plus phase 2 dermal wound trials. The systemic cardiac programme did not produce published efficacy data. This is more human evidence than almost any research peptide — and it is still not an approved drug.

How it is supposed to work

Sequesters G-actin, promoting cell migration, angiogenesis and reduced inflammation.

Safety

Topical ocular use was well tolerated in trials. Systemic safety is not established.

Storage and handling

Lyophilised peptide is generally stored at 2–8 °C, or below −20 °C for long-term storage. Reconstituted in bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) a solution is typically treated as usable for about 28 days refrigerated, versus roughly 24 hours for plain sterile water, which has no preservative. Add the water slowly down the vial wall and swirl — never shake, which shears peptide chains and foams the solution.
