What the human evidence actually is

Small and industry-heavy. Manufacturer-sponsored studies report roughly 20-30% reduction in wrinkle depth over 30 days. Independent replication is limited, and the core objection is physical: it is a hexapeptide applied to intact skin, where penetration to the neuromuscular junction is questionable.

How it is supposed to work

Mimics the N-terminal of SNAP-25 to competitively interfere with SNARE complex formation and reduce catecholamine release — the same complex botulinum toxin cleaves, far more weakly.

Topically well tolerated; mild irritation possible.

Storage and handling

Lyophilised peptide is generally stored at 2–8 °C, or below −20 °C for long-term storage. Reconstituted in bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) a solution is typically treated as usable for about 28 days refrigerated, versus roughly 24 hours for plain sterile water, which has no preservative. Add the water slowly down the vial wall and swirl — never shake, which shears peptide chains and foams the solution.
